A young girl practices her roping technique during a break at a junior rodeo near Winchester, Kentucky. I honestly loved shooting this junior rodeo. When I arrived, it was super muddy, there was a strong overcast and I was very curious how things would turn out. I went on my own with no pressure to get any specific photos so it gave me the freedom to move around and work on getting some artistic shots like this.

Bobby, this summer I started photographing rodeo and fell in love with the feeling and heart that is the sport. I think the way that you conveyed the effort, the motion and the hard work in this image is beautifully done, and creates a spectacular image. The form of the lasso leads the eye in a stunning way that highlights your subject, but allows the viewer to see the whole scene. Great work on this!
