Witnessing the great migration in the Serengeti National Park was a truly awe-inspiring experience for me. In fact, I often think back to this morning. The wildebeest pictured here were yet to cross many rivers; a dangerous, often deadly undertaking. Yet, they stood so still, almost posing for the frame and contemplating life at the same time. Imagine being one in a million, chasing the rains, dancing in the rhythm of nature, befriending zebra and running from lions. The greatest show on earth.
I agree with Your Shot photographer Nele Horemans, who commented: "This picture is just so awesome! [B]ut the way you describe it really pulls me into it! I am there, I can feel the crowd, smell the dust and the fear of what will come! [G]reat work!" This is so beautiful Carmen. I bet this was an inspiring experience. Well done. Very well done.
