Every 3 years the small town of Donggang in Taiwan hosts the Boat Burning Festival. A 14-meter wooden ship is built and paraded around town collecting bad luck and illness. Then it is brought to the beach and assembled. Finally it is set ablaze with firecrackers ridding the town of misfortune.
