    I am a big fan of foxes and when I had the chance to rescue a female cub (she is the second one, the other one is male), I could not resist. In this picture she is about 12 weeks old. She is living in the house and when she will be big enough I will move her to the outside cage where the other fox is living. Hello E., Beautiful Photograph, I see it has been selected for publication. I would like more information that was not technical, the story, the country....

    Future  is sad for these lovely animals. At least she is in good hands, both you and her are very lucky :)

    Thank you very much, Robin!

    I know what most people think: she should live in the wild, that is the best for a wild animal.

    I understand these people. But I know that with me she will have appr. 10-15 happy years. If I let her go she would be dead within 1-2 years. Foxes are not popular here. They are killed crually. Hunters would like to eat the rabbits and pheasants, they do not want to share with foxes.

    On the other hand I heard from a hunter if a fox gets in a pheasant farm the fox kills a 100 of a 100 without eating one of them. So I understand why hunters are angry for them.

    But we are in the 21st century. Why people are not able to build proper fences...

    @Douglas Gimesy Hey Douglas, sure I can. Technically it was a half handheld shot because may hands were on the floor. As I mentioned in a previous post the photo was taken just after the fox waked up. It was easier to took photo of her because she was calmer.

    On small parts I darkened the image.

    I took a look at on your pictures. I saw the dead foxes on a car. Terrible. Not your picture but the theme. But those foxes were luckier than some foxes in our country. They killed by a shot. Here dogs are training on young foxes. That is why people keep them after killing their mother.

    @Veronika K-Ko Thank you Veronika!

    She will stay. I rather will not tell you what would happen to this little fox if I do not take her home. And since foxes are not welcomed in our country I know what would happen with her if I let her go. In our country the average lifetime of a wild fox is 1,5 years and it is because of the people/hunters. Hopefully she will have at least 10 happy years with me.
