It has been so inspiring to see how many Unsung Heroes there are out there. Our Your Shot community has submitted thousands of images honoring those who do important, often thankless tasks. First responders, doctors, journalists, teachers, garbage collectors. We have seen images honoring fathers and mothers who provide support and love. We have seen images that celebrate the important work of pollinators, and images that honor the devotion of our canine friends. It is easy to become cynical in a world full of hardship and division, but as I have looked at all of your photos I am filled with optimism and hope. There is so much good out there.
It is often quiet and resides in the small, intimate moments in all our lives. It is carried out by those we know and love, and by strangers quietly giving themselves to the larger community. It is easy for it to go unnoticed, but you all have worked collectively to raise your voices and use your cameras to prove that there is more good in the world than bad. There is more hope than hate. And we are all stronger together than we are apart. This is the power that can live in a photograph. I have selected the final story photographs, and we present them here to celebrate the work you have all done to recognize that which is good in our neighbors, and in ourselves.
