In Awe of the Fireflies
Was just wandering around a field on a summer evening with my lady and our pups, a pit named Drize and our lovely mutt Bridgette. The fireflies started glowing and I think the dogs were as enamored with the experience as we were! I haven't seen them glow like that since I was a child. So I of course had to capture the moment. Even though I'll never forget the evening, I'm glad to have this concrete reminder.
In the "Gift of Life" assignment intro, guest editor Joni Schrantz shared: "I look forward to telling (my daughter) Juniper her story one day. A story about a tiny baby who entered the world not on a peaceful day, but rather in a storm, a storm so scary and turbulent that not many thought she'd live to see calmer days." When I see your photo Garret, I think of Joni's three-year-old daughter and the magical life she is going to live because another mother said yes to the gift of life."
