Redwinged Blackbird surveying his realm. Every year the male Redwings arrive in the marsh at Point Pelee in February. They spend the next few months on territory busily defending their patch and waiting for the females to arrive. I love the marsh at this time of year, it's busy and just starting to become alive. 2 weeks after this photo was taken, a fire started in the marsh and 300 acres were burned including this exact spot.
