    Reported by:

This little guy was just 4 weeks old, still pretty small to leave his mother and go to a new home, and he showed it: moping around and crying non-stop. Lucas wasn't bothered by the fleas and the matted hair -- he just wanted to help, to console, and to love. I was surprised by his gentleness, although I shouldn't have been. There is something oddly calming about helpless critters. Maybe the truth is that Lucas needed that little puppy as much as the puppy needed him?
