    Reported by:

A toad in the grass of Marfield Nature Reserve, near Masham. This reserve is a series of ponds and lakes restored form an old gravel and aggregate quarry to an area conserved for wildlife. Toads are out in the force at the reserve now and when you get your eye in you can find them everywhere...int he water, heads poking out of the water, in the grass, under logs and wood panels and in the woodlands. They're another sign that spring has taken hold after a stuttering start.
