Petroglyphs:Beautiful Art and Symbolism
Sedona Red Rock country is truly magical. So much beauty, history and meaning in the red rocks, and a special place is The V Bar V Heritage Site outside of Sedona. With a short hike you come to the site of over 1000 Sinagua petroglyphs that age back to estimated 1150-1350, the largest petroglyph site in Verde Valley. The area attracted the Sinagua with the water and good soil, and the meaning of many of the etchings are of the calendar, crop planting time, seasons, hunting... Amazing rock art!
