We were so lucky to spot this young Komodo dragon whilst visiting Komodo Island (Flores, Indonesia) last summer. It came as a surprise to me that these dragons spent the first 2-3 years living high up in the trees, far away from their older brothers and sisters as they could be easily be mistaken for a snack! Up in the trees the young Komodo lives on any small animal it can find from insects to lizards. This one was very curious why this group of people was taking so many pictures of him.
