A child of the 80s, I grew up watching tv specials. Bloated bellied babies a world away beamed to my screen while a retired celebrity droned about the risk of death from dehydration. I thought of them this week as I sat in the ER with my own dehydrated girl, waiting for meds to combat the nausea, very much feeling my privilege and the gift of clean water, medicine, insurance, and a lifetime of never worrying that a stomach bug could be the end.

A very personal image that I'm happy to see shared here within our Your Shot community. I remember those same tv commercials for kids in need as well. Old visions of our past that sometimes resurface when we are dealing with tough issues. Great work framing this, your young child looks so peaceful as she rest from a recent illness.
