    Reported by:

The Sheep Bridge, a suspension bridge, across the lower Verde River was first built in 1942 then rebuilt in 1989. The bridge is located about 67 miles north of Phoenix on I-17 then east 38 miles at the east end of Bloody Basin Rd. A slightly wetter then normal spring has encouraged an extensive bloom of desert flowers. The road requires a high clearance vehicle. There are several water crossings along the way.
