Mariposa lily with bee in flight
Mariposa lilies bloom in the heat of June, one of the few plants that flower at this time of year in the sagebrush desert. The pollinators feast on the nectar, incidentally collecting and spreading pollen. Spiders come to the flowers, also, to feed on the busy pollinators. A whole ecosystem lives on these beautiful flowers. In order to maintain an appropriate distance for the insects to continue their lives unimpeded, I cropped this photo in post-production.
