Guarding the entrance to Parque Independencia on the cusp of Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone, the guard’s chiselled jaw and pretty-boy features caught the attention of most passersby. Despite the giggling antics of passing school girls, he generously posed for my lens. He was, needless to say, doing a fine job of guarding the entrance.
