Contrary to the Haitian man I’d met torpidly pushing his fruit trolley through the streets, the antics and general disposition of the vendors depicted above were animated. They were replete with ebullience and their gesticulations were evocative of the characteristics I’d envisaged to be associated with Caribbean folk.
