Whilst visiting Xian, I took a trip to see the Terracotta Warriors. The warrior captured in the image is an example of the exceptional craftsmanship that was around in ancient times. I was desperate to find a warrior that I could focus in to. I wanted an image which told a story about the warrior. Using a zoom lens, I was able to capture the unique contours and expression of the face, as well as the decay of time; this brought out great detail in the image.
