If you're visiting Salzburg or Munich, go off the beaten path to Berchtesgaden National Park. There you'll find the deep blue Königssee and Obersee hidden between the Berchtesgadener Alps. Once you see this picturesque boathouse surrounded by towering Alps and waterfalls gushing in the distance, you will want to stay there forever. Or at least until the last boat leaves.
