It was in the previous night of climbing to the Gurudongmer lake located at an altitude of 7800 ft above the sea level that we put up at Lachen, a small town mainly used as a night stop by most visitors to the lake. This is the sight from the balcony of the small hotel where we stayed which gives an idea of the kind of beauty that we will be enjoying the following day on the way to the lake.
