Our baby was supposed to be born at home with a midwife, but instinct told me I needed to go to the hospital mid-labour. When he was born, he wasn't breathing properly and he needed oxygen support for 2 days. I will always wonder how the outcome might have been different if I hadn't insisted on going. This is my son, my husband, and his parents. They had just arrived from Germany and laid eyes on him (and me) for the first time. They hadn't even taken their coats off yet.
