A few times a year the lake freezes such that the world class skyline is reflected in the ice. Chicago is a contradiction of terms: it's full of scars and blemishes but at the same time boasts America's greatest skyline. The Chicago School of Architecture is well known and the modern skyscraper was born here not to mention important contributions to Art Deco and the home of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie School of Architecture.
