We were sitting around the campfire with new friends hoping the clouds would clear for sunset when a ray of light hit the mountain peaks. I grabbed my camera and ran down to Lake Macdonald and saw this cedar tree leaning over water off in the distance. I jogged down to this spot, set the camera up nice and low and captured a bit of magic! Birds were singing, distant water falls were gently roaring, an owl hooted somewhere behind me, and the photographers soul rested. Earthday 2017 ended well!
