2:51 a.m.-Wind gusts up to 50 m.p.h. rock my rental SUV in the Mohave National Preserve near Baker California on April 14, 2017. The overnight trip was to shoot stars in the desert, but it seemed ill advised to put a new camera out in high winds and blowing sand . I tried sleeping in the suv because a tent would flap furiously in that wind making it hard to rest. Except the truck would bounce very time a gust would hit it. Sleep was elusive so I tried making a photo of the wind.
