Eastern Redbud Blossoms
Just when winter has reached the point where you can’t stand to wear a scarf and gloves again, the Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis) bursts into a pink cotton candy ball of blossoms.
The flowers come straight out of the branches and even the trunk. They pop out before the leaves do. When the leaves do show, though, they are perfectly heart-shaped and a lovely light green. One look at this tree in its full spring glory will bring a smile to your face.
