While many first-time home buyers immediately focus on painting and furnishing, we were thrilled to have enough space to raise chickens! Our chickens means less waste in landfills, a healthy compost pile, fresh eggs daily, and of course the entertainment value of seeing six fluffy butts speeding across the yard to eat mealworms. We built the coop from scratch using recycled bricks, wood, and even recycled paint! We hope it will inspire others to reduce their footprint and raise their own flock.
