I literally chased this moving target, first by running toward it when I got off the bus from where I saw it, and then zigzagging through fellow pedestrians on a busy, snowy and slippery sidewalk in Midtown, Manhattan seeking the best moment for the shot. The light was harsh but I found it to be beautiful. Among other shadows and silhouettes without a clear destination, this was the only one whose purpose and scope on that morning was as evident as it could be.
