Texas State Capitol
My previous photo showed the Texas State Capitol building as taken from the Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin. This view is also from Congress Avenue, but at a point much closer to the Capitol. The building was constructed in the 1880s in the Italian Renaissance Revival-style. At almost 303 feet tall, it is the 6th tallest state capitol in the U.S. and is taller than the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC, and with more than 360,000 sq. ft. of floor space, it is the largest state capitol in area.
