Portrait of a male waterbuck
A male water buck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus) has long, spiral horns, present only on males. Waterbuck inhabit scrub and savanna areas close to sources of water. It is a large grazing antelope, mostly found on grasslands. They are mostly non-migratory and large numbers can seen in Arusha National Park where the presence of Mount Meru keeps the environment wet and green.
