Pictures-Our Umbilical Chord to the Past
Reminiscence of its past, hand pulled rickshaw still continue to be on the roads making their presence felt while giving a flavour of colonial Calcutta. While Kolkata(earlier called Calcutta) has swanky malls, high rises, underground metro rail, luxury cars on its roads the old one's like rickshaw, tram, hand carts, cycle vans, heritage buildings are still very much present.100 years from now their place will be in pictures only.Time will give way to new, pictures will be all we have to relive them.
This is so beautiful Debraj. I love your decision to present this photo in black and white; this frame feels so timeless. I want to believe you saw this scene unfolding in front of your camera, and then waited for the rickshaw to come down the street to be perfectly composed in the light.
