    It was thrilling to be on the Big Island while the volcano was pouring lava into the ocean and we took the opportunity to view it by helicopter, boat, and foot. My favorite shot was taken after walking out to the viewing area at 2:30 AM. The power, heat, and majesty of nature were profound and I shot from the area outside the roped off "danger" zone. I was amazed and aghast to see the tiny silhoutted photographer shooting from inside the hazardous roped off area.
