The Metropolitan building. Formerly known as the Whiteway Laidlaw department store, it was a famous department store in Calcutta in1905 in India. This neo-baroque emporium—with domes, a clock tower, and arched recessed windows—exemplifies Victorian architecture. I shot this from a moving car, as I passed by this famous historical monument.
