This is a fiber sculpture that floats in the sky above downtown LaBauer Park in Greensboro NC. It is comprised of 35 miles of fibers crafted into 242,800 knots. Once nicknamed the ‘Textile Capital of the World’, this sculpture was created in homage to Greensboro’s textile tradition. The sculpture spans 200 feet, and dances against the sky at the will of the wind. It is entitled Where We Met, and the artist is Janet Echelman.
