Stillness over The Sea of Salt
Serene stillness over the Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia. Contrasting strips of wet and dry salt are seen with a distant mountainous backdrop. This photograph was captured following a literally breathtaking hike to the top of of the Isla Incahuasi at an elevation of over 3600 meters (nearly 12,000 feet) above sea level. This telephoto zoom view peers out over the vast remains of an ancient inland sea that evaporated, leaving behind the largest salt flats in the world
