As part of the Easter celebration in Antigua, Guatemala processions parade around the city, honouring the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ, and honouring the Virgin Mary. Here, a group of women bear the weight of one of the massive floats or 'andas'. The Virgin Mary sits on top, while the women waltz in unison - almost trance like - bearing the heavy weight on their shoulders, paying penance to their saviours.
