The Eye of the Artist
I was walking by the 86th Street subway station on the new Second Avenue Line in New York City today, and decided to go in and check it out. I paid my fare and was treated to twelve mosaics created by Chuck Close. When I returned home, I researched his story, to find that aside from suffering from face blindness, this 76-year-old photorealistic painter and photographer suffered a spinal artery collapse in 1988 that left him partially paralyzed.
