Roads for vehicles to pass through these mountains now run alongside the classic Annapurna Circuit trekking trail. While this has benefits for locals (increased tourism/ easier to retrieve foods and supplies for guest houses= financial gain), and for tourists who have limited time in Nepal (can shorten their trek by riding jeep some of the way), this may have damaging environmental impacts in the long run.
