Ava, a tiny chicken with a big personality. She hatched on our back porch and was taught by her mother hen to like people. Now, as one of our free-ranging pet chickens, she frequents the back porch to look for her own nesting spots. Ava walks right up to us - or peeks in a back window! - when she wants a snack. (She'd be a house chicken if she could!) Ava is also the only chicken I know who likes tummy rubs. In 12+ years of raising pet chickens, Ava may take the cake as our favorite.
