I wasn't sure what I was waiting for, but just after 11:00pm the moon rose behind me and cast it's shadow on the sea stack in front! A boat then appeared to light the scene from a distance, and both vanished within the next minute; making that one moment at 11:05pm the crucial moment of the night.
