Bubble-net feeding is a fascinating way that humpback whales work together to feed. We were very lucky to get to see this on our whale watch trip outside Juneau, Alaska. It was easy to see where the whales were likely to emerge next by watching the birds gather in the area. From a low of an estimated 1,500 humpback whales in the 1960s, the species has now been graded as "Least Concern" from "Endangered", but as the water temperature increases, these whales are once again in danger of extinction.
