Doesburg, de Stijl: 100 Years
A hundred years ago in Leiden, Theo van Doesburg founded a magazine called De Stijl (The Style). It was the start of an artistic movement that aimed for pure abstraction in art and architecture. Here, a 1:5 scale model of a house based on b&w photographs of a smaller 1923 (lost) model, by Doesburg and van Eesteren. The model was re-created by architecture students at TU Delft under supervision of Prof. Mick Eekhout. It is on public display in Leiden to commemorate the centennial of de Stijl.
