    Throughout it's range, the Pallid Bat is considered a common species, but they are sensitive to human encroachment and disturbance in their roosting areas, which is of increasing concern. They are nocturnal, chasing mainly insects at night. I was thrilled to get this shot of one flying over a pond for a drink! Getting pics of these amazing bats was the reason for my trip down to southern Arizona.
