TAWO TAWO FESTIVAL
An iconic scarecrow festival which marked the 30th anniversary celebration in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, Philippines. To anticipate better crop production, the townsfolk use the scarecrow to drive away the "Maya" birds (sparrows) if they raid the ricefields.
Bayawan is the Agricultural Capital of Negros Oriental.
My photo recently won the Best Tawo Tawo Street Dancing Festival / Showdown Shot for the Bayawan Photo Contest 2017.
