I like to take daytrips to Pescadero State Beach about an hour and a half drive from my home. Besides walking on the misty beach, there are trails through the marsh nearby where there are lots of birds and many interesting native plants. It was low tide when I was there this week and among the birds foraging along the water’s edge was this pair of long-billed dowitcher of the sandpiper family. They were such beautiful birds and weren't too scared of me when I approached them to take some shots.
