Standing on the roof of the cathedral is humbling - the sheer magnitude is demonstrated by the people to the left. This amazing cathedral began construction in 1386 and took 600 years to complete and was designed by a number of architects including Leonardo da Vinci, Donato Bramante, Giulio Romano. The inside certainly is starkly different from the ornate Gothic outside and the roof is so intricate it is hard to believe.
