The ODKF is rarely sighted in Mumbai, so it was exciting to hear about the recent sightings with the arriving monsoon. It is a very small bird, very swift but the most colourful of all Indian kingfishers. A three hour vigil in a humid forest allowed us a glimpse for not more than 2 minutes. It was my first sighting of this delightful bird, and thankfully it posed quiet well for this shot !!
