Traditional Lifestyle
The ancient town Xitang has been heavily commercialized for many years. Most of the houses in there are now shops, cafes, bars, or inns. The only hours to visit the town without tourists is dawn. I arrived there at 5am. Sun was just coming up the horizon. Locals came out to wash their clothes by the river at the beginning of day so that they can be dried by the sun during the day. As more and more tourists visit the town everyday, it is a constant battle to keep the river clean.
