Keiko (Morning Sumo Practice)
Sumo is Japan's national sport. The keiko (or asa-geiko) is the morning sumo practice. During the keiko, rikishis (sumo wrestlers) exert themselves to their limits according to the traditional way of practice.
More and more stables or “beya” are allowing tourists to watch the wrestlers in training (either inside or outside through the window as shot here). However strict rules are asked to be followed, since the rikishis train, eat and sleep in the stable. It is like looking into their home.
