A man walks casually through the smoke from a launching rocket at the Bun Bang Fai festival in Vang Vieng, Laos. The festival marks the beginning of the wet season and is meant to encourage the coming rains. The highlight of the celebration is a homemade rocket competition where participants make varying size black powder bottle rockets and set them off on makeshift platforms. The contest aims to see which rocket can launch the farthest, this time the goal was to make it over a nearby mountain.

Fantastic Sara. By shooting wide, you've created a sense of scale for the size of the rockets and launching platforms to the distance of the nearby mountains. I bet this was so much fun to witness. Thank you for writing a detailed caption which explains to me what I am looking at, because I was so curious. I wanted to know more. I Googled the Bun Bang Fai festival and watched videos of rockets being launched. Well done.
