We were at Kovalam, a small beach south of the Chennai which houses a modest fisheries industry. We were sitting and enjoying the sound of waves gently kissing the scorching sand when these kids appeared, asking for alms. Adult kid was skillfully playing the percussion while the younger one entertained the audience. It made me wonder if they were brothers by birth or had poverty tied them together in a symbiosis. Whatever it may be, it was very heartening to see them playing to their tunes.
