    Healthcare workers take part in a drill on how to safely transport a patient with highly infectious disease. I serve as the medical director of a specialized unit that makes our community, patients and hospital safer. We, scientists and healthcare workers, need to be better at explaining what we do and why it is important. If there is anything the recent proposed cuts to science in this country tell us, it's that scientists need to be better at sharing their work.
